General Rules

General Rules

1. Plays and Play Design: The PCFL will use PNFL plays, as updated by the PNFL and will abide by PNFL play design rules. Human coached teams may, however, submit new custom plays for use by all teams in the PCFL. 20 pre-season plays, submitted one week before the beginning of the PCFL season, and 4 per week during the 12 week season, will be allowed and they will be used for that season only. After that they can be submitted to Charlie for permanent addition to the PNFL play pool.

2.All PNFL rules regarding game plans and profiles will be the rules for those matters in the PCFL.

3. Schedule and seasons: The PCFL will play most during the PNFL off-season, playing a 12- games season plus 3 weeks of playoffs, starting no later than one week after the PNFL Super Bowl each season.

4. Un-coached teams: Also known as CPU teams, they will be managed by league officers or volunteers coaches and will use CPU PPPs released by the league office every season. These teams are open to new coaches joining the PCFL.

5. PCFL playoffs: The top 8 teams, as seeded by the power ranking at the bottom of our standings page, using the tie-breakers as needed it uses, will be the seeding of our playoff teams. A standard tournament format will apply for the playoffs and ultimate championship. The championship game will be played on a neutral field, using the utility that negaters the EN deduction from the visiting team. Other playoff games will feature the highest seeded team as the home team playing with home field advantage.

6. Roster requirements: PCFL will follow the PNFL rules on rosters including depth and number of players per position, etc.

7.For all rules issues not state in our rule, the PNFL rules will apply.

8. In any other instance of an issue not addressed by these rules, or the PNFL rules, the lack of a rule shall not be used by any team owner as a pretense to game the system or take advantage of the absence of a rule, so the commissioner must act in the interest of the league to rule on such issues until the league can adopt a clear written rule to address such issues going forward.
