PCFL Web Site

Some of you have noticed our main web site has changed at pcfl.site. ND Coach Shawn Hamilton volunteered to re-design and update the design of our web site and is in the process of doing that, and the new main page of the web site is the product of his work. There will be further updating and building of the web site coming soon.

PCFL.CC -- This is a new addition to our web site that I am building in ColdFusion, that will be using for all of the General Manager aspects of running our teams. This will replace our Teams and Recruiting file and allow this process to be more easily maintained and more effectively used by team coaches. We will have a sub-domain coaches.pcfl.cc that we will log into to manage our teams, and pcfl.cc will be used to display team-related news (latest players signed, etc.). This will preplace and make obsolete the Teams and Recruiting file, and starting with next season, we will complete conduct our recruiting via this portal. It will tracks points, recruits, update in real time, block bids over points available (so no rule needed on this), prohibit withdriving of bids if we pass that rule, etc. This will be beta-tested when it's developed and then used for our next season of recruiting and walk-on signing. This will also be used in the future for designating red shirt players, tracking how many games they have played, etc.

Looks good. Once it’s finished, the PCFL will have a better website than the Geocities-looking PNFL website.

And love the PCFL CC idea using Cold Fusion.

Exactly. It was an eye-sore, all it was missing was Deans ICQ contact#. It served it's purpose. We continue to evolve. Currently is the worse the website will be, now that there's a template I will continue to iterate on the missing elements and images, links etc. And make the sections modular and dynamic, I would like for when the league files get's uploaded the elements on the website automatically update, so there's no need to make website changes, it updates when the league files update.

Love all of it! Kind of what I tried to do with the XFBS site.

After your done with PCFL website, maybe you can convince Rich to allow you to make the same upgrade to the PNFL website.

Rich likes to keep some level of control and flexibility though so you'd have to make the images and links easy for him to swap out somehow (i.e., just upload the new image and link to this directory and it automatically updates). Has to be super simple like that.
