The Nico Iamaleava situation

We want the PCFL to be somewhat realistic but we know we can't control real life events either.

Real Life: Nico Iamaleava was recruited for 8 million as a 5-star and was billed as the future greatest QB ever in Tennessee FB history. He passed for over 2600 yards, 19 TD, 5 INT, and a QBT of just over 70. Good but not great numbers. He didn't look great against top teams and put up his best stats and most of his TDs against lesser competition.

PCFL: The computer drafted a 5-star QB to my roster, I took over the team as Tennessee and the QB is re-named Nico Iamaleava. He puts up better numbers than his real life counter part but I thought he under-performed against top teams like Texas, but assumed this was in part due to my coaching. Nico put up some great stats against a terrible Miami defense created by the Shark dude, much like Nico running up the score on Kent State (worst team in college FB) in real life. Nico is voted the Heisman winner but I thought HB Dylan Sampson was more instrumental in the success of the team, but the QB often gets credit for team success.

Real Life: Nico will not be at Tennessee after demanding reportedly 4 million per year and the team making clear they will not give him the bag of cash. It looks like Tennessee will be starting 4-star QB Jake Merklinger or getting someone in the portal.

PCFL: Nico is a senior and there would be no reason he will not play his seniors year as the best QB on the roster.

it will be odd having Nico Iamaleava as Tennessee's starting QB here in the PCFL but not in real life. His younger brother Madden Iamaleava committed to UCLA in real life and flipped to Arkansas. In the PCFL, UCLA recruited a 4-star QB last season and named him Madden Iamaleava. UCLA signed a 5-star QB in the current recruiting cycle. So that situation will noit align with real life either.

We try out best, but as pointed out above life happens. I am curious to see if Nico ends up at Arkansas with his brother or if his brother ends up following him where he lands. I doubt Arkansas pays him what he wants, but it'll be interesting to see how it pans out. My gut tells me he ends up at Ole Miss. He doesn't have to go far and can visit his bro as Oxford isn't that far from Fayettville.
