Starting with the 2025 season:
The PCFL will allow optional submission of custom plays by human coached teams. The number of plays allowed will be 20 defensive plays and 20 offensive plays, due no later than 10 days before the deadline to submit PPPs for week 1 games. During the 12 weeks of the regular season, each human coached team may submit as many as 6 plays on offense and 6 plays on defense. Plays submitted will be used only by the teams submitting them for the entire season during which they are submitted. In the off-season following that season, they will be moved to the general PCFL play pool and they will become available to be used by all PCFL teams, including CPU teams.
Play Design Rules:
Plays submitted must comply with all PNFL play design rules, except as stated in the following exceptions listed below. These exceptions will be intended to allow a few more coaching options not allowed in the PNFL, and will never in any way ban the use of any plays approved for the PNFL play pool.
1. Defensive plays may employ as many as 5 defenders in bump and run coverage without a stop and wait delays. Given our higher HB ratings, this will allow for most effective defending of HBs when they are employed as receivers.
